Mission Statement
In 2002, Kathleen Walsh founded a non profit organization called Parents Loving Children Through Autism. Through the years, the organization has grown in strength and families. In 2007, PLCTA received its 501-C-3 status and became The Parents Loving Children Through Autism Foundation.
The PLCTA Foundation has three goals:
The First Goal is to provide support and encouragement for families that are raising children with autism. PLCTA is a network of families that share concerns, experience, and give advice to one another about the struggles and challenges that arise when raising a child with special needs.
The Second Goal is education. PLCTA will hold meetings, workshops and training to bring the latest information available to families, Knowledge is Power. Power to help your child reach their highest potential possible.
The Third Goal is to provide a place where each child will be accepted. Through our social clubs and monthly trips we hope to help faster social interactions. We will nurture growth and provide each individual a place where they will "belong" Everyone needs a smile, words of praise and a warm hug. We hope PLCTA is a place where everyone will find friendship and love.
The PLCTA Foundation will strive to achieve these goals. We will keep our promise to our families by providing a supportive environment where everyone is respected and held in the highest esteem. We will stand in unity, loving each other through autism.
